The Vision
This kitchen sits within a bright, vaulted extension — skylights and a gable-end window draw the garden in, while a retained natural-stone wall ties the new space back to the original house. A classic Shaker kitchen felt right for the setting: characterful and warm, but light enough to make the most of the room’s new-found space.
Hand-finished stone cabinetry with tongue-and-groove panelling is topped with solid oak worktops, while a contrasting marine island — finished in veined quartz with an oak breakfast bar — anchors the room. A classic cast-iron range, an undermount sink with a traditional tap, pewter cup handles and reclaimed-timber shelving on hand-forged brackets add the finishing character, all laid over warm herringbone flooring.
